Floppy's Neighborhood

My new parents m&m picked me up from the shelter [Pets Unlimited] at 11:00 AM on May 11, 2007. We went for a short walk and then they sat with my guardian for sooo long I was given a time out because I kept on chewing on cables. I wasn’t really sure what was going on but it was pretty exciting! We finally took off and went for a walk. I sniffed on every leaf I could see ... there were so many.

My second day at m&m’s house started with a fast walk. Oh, geezers … I drank way too much the night before. Couldn’t even make it all the way out of the building. I opened up the floodgates already in the lobby. SORRY! Mariell looked really tired and as soon as we got back to the pad we both crashed. I had breakfast and then it was time for another walk. Mark fixed my house and I really liked it with the top off. I caught up on sleep as you should on a Saturday morning.

I slept through the night and when I woke up Mariell was right next to my bed. I think she actually woke me up:( and I didn’t even really need to go. I guess I must have scared her the first night when I couldn’t hold it all the way through the lobby. I sleepwalked around the block and went back to bed.

We went to a new park after my breakfast. Played with this really sweet girl named Matty. Matty had this really cool squeaky toy that her guardian tossed and it bounced. Matty let me borrow it and I told Mariell ...

My days at m&m are starting to become routine. I wake up and Mariell takes me for a quick walk. I eat breakfast and then we go for a longer walk and see new and old parks. I get to meet a lot of new friends, some nicer than others. To break up the routine, Mariell took me with her to show me where she works. [Marines' Memorial Association] Mariell’s colleagues, Jayme and Nicole were petting me and giving me lots of attention. I liked it a lot. I also met two new friends, Casey and Stitch. We sniffed around a bit and then I thought I’d hump Casey since she smelled so good! I don’t think I was supposed to do that since both Mariell and Casey’s guardian looked at me funny. How am I supposed to know that Casey’s dad is the big boss? Another guy, Michael, came by the office and sat down and gave me the belly rub of belly rubs! I really liked this guy so I licked and licked his face and he didn’t complain. I could smell 3 other dogs on him and I asked if I could come with him and play with his dogs. He left and crushed my dream of playing some more. I sat at the door looking for him to come back … he didn’t.

We went over to one of M&M's friend's houses today. [Kat] Met Abby - but I don't think she liked me:( We had to be put on leashes across the room from each other while the parents were talking...

Uncle Frank bought me a chicken today.. I ran home with it in my mouth, and managed to swallow the squeeker within 10 minutes! Mariell took it away from me after that:( I got it back, but there was nothing left in there... [removed all of the stuffing]

My parents are nuts! We spent the entire day walking around today - and there were SOO many people! Mark kept snapping pictures - he was bugging even me...

I was soo tired I came home and passed out! Mark tried to take me out after dinner, but I fell asleep in the elevator - I think he was annoyed with me trying to get me back up...

Mark remodeled my house. It has a top again! Top-on, Top-off.. can they make up their minds???

I guess it's kinda my fault.. I wasn't really happy with it yesterday; Kept trying to bring my bed out next to the couch so that I could watch TV with Mark and Mariell; they didn't like that - I wonder if that's why they changed it on me again...

Took a car ride today and went to this huge park [Dolores Park] far away from home. It sucked because I had my leash and couldn't go far - but there was still soo much to see and do there! I even got a picture with Dylan Rhymes!
